In Search of DutchLand is a blog that chronicles and romanticizes the adventures of a 25 26 year old Pilipino-American living in The Netherlands. Her immigration to The Netherlands is a consequence of a modern day, love at first sight, trans-Atlantic romance with a Dutch Native. It is a refuge that attempts to illustrate her waking up to a “Dutched” reality complete with personal observations of cultural idiosyncrasies, narcissistic ramblings, and lingering homesickness. In Search of DutchLand is also a heartfelt attempt at keeping her loved ones far away informed about her near-daily life.

Originally made in the Philippines, raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, cultivated in Berkeley, and briefly seasoned in Philadelphia, Rina Mae finds herself determined to materialize the lucid American dream in Europe. Armed only with her supposed intellect and dependable MacBook Pro, she clumsily navigates through a foreign land and the inevitable quarter-life crisis. What is not lost in translation is her love for the DutchBoy, moderate type-A mentality, undying faith, and pagasa.
